The Land and Sea Party 2023 Highlights

Updates / Events

We are thrilled to share that our Land and Sea Party Fundraiser was a huge success! Nearly 150 members of our community attended in a strong showing of support for Waterside’s mission. Together, we raised an astonishing $25,105, which will benefit our youth and community programs.

We deeply appreciate all who came out in this strong showing of community. Several Waterside alumni joined the event, including Juliana Harrison, who shared a moving story about how her involvement in our programs impacted her development, well-being, and desire to give something back. We were thrilled to see Berkeley City Councilmember Terry Taplin in attendance, along with several members from our event sponsors Mountain Hardwear and Groundworks Office.  And of course, it was a pleasure having Rebecca Parreira perform on harpsichord in the courtyard!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out on Saturday, as well as those who contributed but couldn’t make it. We’re honored to count each of you as partners in our mission to help youth feel heard, gain confidence, develop work skills, and access the tools and resources needed to lead healthy, sustainable lives.

We want to give a special thanks to our event sponsors Mountain Hardwear, DevCon Construction, Groundworks Office, Clif Bar, and Paceline Law. Also thank you to Bluma Farm for floral decorations, Wondrous Brewing, Roses’ Taproom, and Fieldwork Brewing for beer donations, El Patio, Pegasus Voyages, Rad Power Bikes, Iron Horse Vineyards, and Aventon for exciting silent auction donations, and Chef Dan Alterman for a truly exceptional meal.

We are excited to build on the momentum from this event to continue cultivating a strong, local grassroots community for Waterside Workshops. We’re honored to count each of you as partners in our mission to help youth feel heard, gain confidence, develop work skills, and access the tools and resources needed to lead healthy, sustainable lives.

Thanks to our sponsors!
