Waterside Workshops offers a weeklong Bike Camp for 11-14 year old students. Youth participating in this day camp learn safe riding techniques, practicing bike mechanic skills, and going on rides around the Bay Area. Our main goal is to enable young people to safely explore by bike their surrounding natural outdoor spaces with confidence and critical thinking. Our staff also impart relevant bicycle skills such as mechanical safety check, fixing a flat tire, how to use gears, riding with groups, navigating on bicycle paths, and maneuvering skills. We cultivate a fun, social bonding environment through teamwork exercises, group activities, and daily bike rides to unique and fun locations. Don’t have a bike? We are able to provide participants with bicycles and helmets as needed. Youth must be able to comfortably ride a bicycle.
