For our final overnight camping trip of 2022, we went mountain biking and hiking at China Camp State Park! Despite the low temperatures and early sunsets, we had a strong turnout and our spirits were high. Even though our van had available seats, several interns braved a 25 mile ride from Berkeley, riding along the Bay Trail and over the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.
We rode a lot of singletrack, which was a new experience for a few of our interns, but there were plenty of other highlights too! Hannah and Elena found some clay on the beach and fired pottery in the campfire, making a heart and a little pot for a succulent. We also played chess, dipped our feet in the water, and of course, ate a lot of good food. We’re looking forward to many more amazing camping trips in 2023!
