Waterside’s first camping trip of the year was a blast! Seven interns and four staff visited Monterey Bay, pitching our tents just a few yards away from the beach.
During our three-day trip, we biked along the coast, snorkeled in the bay, and explored the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was awesome to see the aquarium’s kelp forest and then examine one firsthand while snorkeling!
Thanks to the CA State Coastal Conservancy’s Explore the Coast grant program, we have many more coastal activities planned for this year. By introducing Waterside’s interns to the ocean’s many benefits, our goal is to help cultivate our planet’s future conservation leaders.
