What types of boats can I rent?

Wooden rowboats. Many of these boats were built in our youth programs!

Where can I use the boat?

Only at the Berkeley Aquatic Park. We do not provide take-away rentals.

Who can rent a boat?

Anyone over 18 years of age who has a valid government issued ID. Children may accompany a parent or guardian.

How much does it cost?

Single: $25/hr | Double: $30/hr | Triple: $35/hr | Quad: $40

We also offer group rental rates for your next birthday party or event. If you are from a school group or youth nonprofit, please contact us for discounted pricing and schedule information.

Have your own boat? You can use our dock to launch your boat when we are open and have staff available to assist. We charge a $20 launch fee to use our dock.

The Boathouse Saturday Class is a hands-on, open-ended woodworking workshop for youth ages 10–14.  Whether you want to carve a custom paddle, build a bookshelf, or craft a guitar…the shop is yours. Students drive their own projects, learning to safely navigate a professional shop environment using both traditional hand tools and modern power tools. To ensure expert 1-on-1 coaching, classes are limited to 6 students max.

This isn’t just a craft class—it’s an introduction to the world of traditional trades and maritime heritage.  Students will also get hands-on experience with our fleet of wooden boats—water safety and boat handling!

When: Saturday, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm (1.5 hours)

Who: Ages 10-14

Our boatshop is capable of constructing or performing repairs on any type of wooden boat up to 20 feet in length. If you are in need of a yacht tender, fishing boat, recreational watercraft, or custom oars, please let us know.

In addition to wooden boat construction, our boat shop interns and staff build cutting boards, Adirondack chairs, outdoor furniture, and wooden toys for sale.
