We are honored to be named Bike East Bay’s 2023 Bike Group of the Year!
Danny McNaughton, our Street Level Cycles Program Director, accepted the award at Bike East Bay’s Biketopia event on October 5. As he shared in his speech, this award was made possible by our amazing community, including our Open Shop community, all of our dedicated customers, supporters, funders, our awesome Berkeley E-Bike Equity Project participants, and of course, the heart and soul of our programs, our youth participants and youth staff.
Witnessing our interns’ and youth staffs’ growth and progression during their time at Waterside, and the employment and educational possibilities that open up to them, is so fulfilling and speaks to the importance of the work organizations like ours do.
We are so grateful to be recognized and are excited to continue our work in bike advocacy, accessibility, and education for years to come!
