Waterside Workshops will be closed on Sunday, April 16th for Easter.

Mission

Waterside Workshops uses vocational education as a method of promoting youth development, encouraging sustainable and healthy lifestyles, and cultivating positive change in the Bay Area community. We provide job-training, classes, and recreation opportunities for local youth while offering services to the community including a bicycle shop and repair facility, a full service wooden boat building shop, and Berkeley’s only youth-run coffee shop.

We offer free internships, classes, and recreation opportunities for local low-income youth ages 14-24. If you or someone you know know are interested in an internship, please contact our director, Amber Rich at amber@watersideworkshops.org or in our office at (510) 644-2577 to schedule an interview.

We also offer fee-based classes and internships for middle and high income youth ages 8-18. We also accept Units from many local charter schools including Hickman Charter School and Connecting Waters. For more information on our classes, please click one of the links below.
